December in Photos

1/10/2016
Sorry for the delay in putting this up! Instead of my usual monthly summary of the outfits I wore (though don’t worry, that’s in here too—scroll to the bottom!), I’m going to go over all the fun things that happened to me over the course of my holidays, but that never quite made it onto the blog!

1. Reed!
There was that time when he invited me out to the Photo Studio…

Actually, it happened twice!

Actually, it happened twice!

Hmm…trying to tell me something, Reed?

Well, at least we made some photos and fun memories!

Well, at least we made some photos and fun memories!

Gotta say, I’m grateful to that dude. He dragged me out of the store on a day when I seriously needed some fresh air!

2. Cake!
I met a couple of customers/friends at the cake shop a while back, and enjoyed a delicious snack break with them.

“Cake is one of my favorite things, y’know! But…”

“Cake is one of my favorite things, y’know! But…”

“Well, I’m a little annoyed! Susan, he won’t buy me the 10 fruitcakes I came for.”

“Well, I’m a little annoyed! Susan, he won’t buy me the 10 fruitcakes I came for.”

Sometimes girls just gotta have their cake, and boys just don’t understand that, am I right?

3. Makeovers!
I got to spend some quality girl time with the amazingly talented gals (and guys!)

"Now just sit back..."

“Now just sit back…”

"...relax..."

“…relax…”

"...there, didn’t I tell you you’d love it?"

“…there, didn’t I tell you you’d love it?”

4. Outfits!
My favorite thing to do is put together outfits, obviously—it’s why I’m in this business!—but what tops even that is putting together outfits for the people I really care about. I got to do that a couple of times this month, for both Michaela and Daphne, two lovely ladies I look up to a whole lot. The best part was, they both could not have loved my selections any more than they did!

“I can’t wait to wear this to work!”

“I can’t wait to wear this to work!”

“Actually, it’s too cute for work. Let’s get our picture taken instead!”

“Susan, would you believe it if I told you I have a…date…with this guy?!”

“Susan, would you believe it if I told you I have a…date, with…this guy?!”

"I knew you would!"

“I knew you’d say yes!”

“And wouldn’t you know it—your outfit made the evening!”

“And wouldn’t you know it—your outfit made the evening!”

5. Monthly slideshow!
As promised, here are some shots of my favorite outfits from last month. Enjoy!

As always, thanks for reading. And get excited, because my move to Beaumonde city keeps getting closer and closer! Right now, it’s looking like I’ll get there sometime in May. That’s a lot of time, but also not a lot of time! And I promise to keep blogging about it right on through.

Count it Down!

1/1/2016

Happy New Year to you lovers of all things stylish! The last year has been good to me (I mean, I restarted the blog, and that’s been great!). I spent my New Years and New Year’s Day mostly helping out around the store. Even with my awesome assistants around to help run the place, the demands of the fashion world never cease!

It was fun, yes, but I was also just the tiniest bit disappointed when Michaela and Emmylou didn’t stop by to invite me out for fireworks, like they have in the past.

Remember? It was great, right?

However, I have been getting a whole lot of new customers, people who’ve never visited the boutique before in their lives, and that’s very exciting!

It means I get to spread my love of great fashion even farther and wider.

Oh, and Philip asked me to go to the Photo Studio with him, so that’s worth something, I’m sure!

Oh, and Philip asked me to go to the Photo Studio with him, so that’s worth something, I’m sure!

I also met a couple of girls at the Station Plaza, so I guess that counts as getting out, too!

They couldn’t stop talking about this guy who sings in a tank top around that time of day…

And I wondered, could it be…this guy? Because, him? I sold him that tank top!!

I even splurged on some new furniture, and did some redecorating…

Looks like I wasn’t the only one with that idea!

And Daisy told me that, if my color of the day is purple…

Purple for wealth—my wallet is purple! And people love having you around.

So, all in all—a great start to 2016!

Happy Anniversary!

12/30/2015

It was three years ago today that my adventures in Styleville first went online. Hope you’ve been enjoying them so far, and that you’ll continue to return and read in the years to come!

I'll be around. <3

I’ll be around. ❤

Christmastime is Here…

12/26/2015

Merry Christmas to all who celebrate it! I’ve had a lovely holiday so far. Town has been pretty quiet with people away traveling and taking in the snowy slopes, so I’ve been running half-days at the boutique, dong my best to stay awake long enough to help the customers.

I didn’t even get out of my pajamas!!

Today, I didn’t even get out of my pajamas!!

But no one minded, and everyone loved my outfit…

So much that I got featured in another edition of Street Snaps! Hell-o.

Daphne even asked if I’d like to go out on the town together…

so of course I said YES.

So of course I said YES. Can’t beat a friend date with this gal!

After that, things slowed down a lot for the holiday proper. I mostly hung out at home, watching Christmas movies and contemplating my impending move.

Still some details to flesh out….

Then, in a blitz of holiday spirit, I ended the day with a hot cup of tea and a photoshoot in the park, celebrating the season by wearing green.

I can’t believe this year is almost over, can you?!

Well, at least we know it’ll go out in style!

Get Your Solstice On

12/22/2015

Happy Winter Solstice, everybody! The day was so short that I hardly wanted to get out of bed…

Lounging around the house sounds pretty appealing on a day like this!

Lounging around the house sounds pretty appealing on a day like this!

…but I had to get myself downtown. I’d promised a customer from the day before that I’d meet her at the amusement park before the morning ended!

"I can ride the merry-go-round in just about any weather, y’know?"

“I can ride the merry-go-round in just about any weather, y’know?”

And when I got back to the store, once again, outfits were just flying off that popular mannequin of mine.

Can you say “adorable”?

That evening—which really felt like nighttime the moment the sun started to set—I headed over to the contest hall to try my hand at the International Contest’s cash prize. Guess my model and I weren’t quite up to snuff, though, since we only came in second…

Maybe it wasn’t “wintery” enough?

Maybe it wasn’t “wintery” enough?

Oh, and let’s not forget who got featured in today’s StreetSnaps digest…

That’s right, yours truly!

That’s right, yours truly!

So all in all, aside from it being pretty dark and cold out all day, my Solstice rocked!

Suddenly Stylish

12/18/2015

It’s been months since I’d attempted an entry in the International Contest, or any fashion contest here in town, for that matter. I’ve had mixed successes with the International Contest in the past, and was stuck on one particular theme for so long that I almost threw in the towel. But earlier this month, I decided to give it another shot—just one more time. And, with the perfect outfit, I…

...WON?!?

…WON?!?

Well, after that victory, you better believe I gave it another go—and another, and another after that! Putting time and care into my outfit choices seemed to really wow the judges, because they handed out trophies and prizes from the exclusive brand Teatro Amare like I was some sort of fashion prodigy. And according to Avery, that’s actually what I am…

No one has ever won all of the themes before! Girlfriend, what ARE you?!

NO ONE has EVER won ALL of the themes before! Girlfriend, what ARE you?!

I have to say, it feels pretty good to not only have won the International Contest once or twice, but to have crushed it, to have complete and utter victory over it. I got to work with some of the top models in the business…

Spec-tac-u-LAR!

…and to attend the most posh after-party that I think I’ve ever been to.

Yes, that's right--it felt FABULOUS!

Yes, that’s right–it felt FABULOUS!

Mannequin Mania

12/12/2015

I was going to get back into blogging with some much-needed recapping of my memories and photos that have gone begging over the past year or so, but then something else came up, as things tend to do. It’s just this—once I got back to the store and started switching things around…

I changed the interior, too—do you like it?

I changed the interior, too—do you like it?

…people started coming up to me and asking about the clothes being displayed by my mannequin.

A lot of these gals were first-time visitors to the boutique, which was pretty exciting in and of itself! After a couple of years, I thought I’d come to know everyone in town, but I guess that’s not the case quite yet.

How was I supposed to say no to so much enthusiasm?

So that’s what I’ve been up to lately—restocking the back room, and selling my mannequin out of ensembles just as fast as I can put them together! Can’t say I have a problem with it, though…

Especially since these gals–and guys–really know how to rock my outfits!

I’m Alive … and Wanting

12/10/2015

Well, hello there! To all the faithful readers who have browsed pages in my absence—thank you so much for supporting and believing in me. Your readership has meant a lot over the past couple of years! So much has happened that I’m not quite sure where to begin, but I’m confident that you don’t want to hear all about school, school, and school, where is where most of my time has gone. The boutique and life in general have also kept me busy-busy-busy, too busy to do more than think about the blog every once in a while. However, now that I’m officially coming back, I want to get things off to the right sort of re-start!

On that note, I suppose I’ll address the most pressing matter from the get-go: I’m thinking that it’s time to move on from sleepy little Styleville—to begin truly making my way up in the fashion world. While I love the city and all it has to offer, and I’ve made great friends here and taken amazing strides within my own career, I can’t shake the feeling that there’s something else out there—something more, that’s waiting for me. So I looked around a little, and started hearing word through the grapevine about a place called Beaumonde City.

What’s Beaumonde City, you ask? An excellent question, seeing as I hadn’t heard of it myself before just a couple of days ago. Well, apparently, it is THE place to be if you’re anyone who wants to become Anyone in the fashion world these days. Beaumonde’s passion for fashion had flagged in the past—perhaps why I hadn’t heard of the place before—but now the community is coming back steady and strong, providing openings in retail, modeling, hair styling, cosmetics, and even clothing design for up-and-coming fashionistas such as yours truly! As if that weren’t enough to tempt me, apparently my grandmother left me an inheritance there, something from years ago. I’m not sure what it might be, but I do have a feeling that it will be key to establishing my place in this brave new space.

The only complication is that Beaumonde is far—quite far—from where I’m living now. So it’s going to take me a bit of time to pack my bags and say good-bye to Styleville University, and to the people who have taught me and helped me so much over the years. On top of that, I’ll have to do what may be the hardest thing of all—that is, say good-bye to Lilac Breeze, and hand it over to the assistants who have more than proven their worth through all the times they’ve been there to lend me a helping hand.

No one said it would be easy, but I believe I’m ready for it. And one way or the other, you can be sure that new adventures in fashion await us! Check back soon for more—and know that, for the time being, I’m back for good.

1/1/14

Doesn’t this seem like the perfect note to end things on? I’ve written and uploaded exactly one hundred posts for my blog over the course of the past year. Granted, some were longer, some were shorter, some were extremely delayed…but all in all, I pulled things together and published content! And now, while other things will most likely call me away from Styleville and Lilac Breeze in the future, my adventures will be forever recorded here for you to enjoy. And I promise to reply to all comments, so if you really love what you see, be sure to let me know.

Wishing everyone the very best in the New Year, and in the years to come!

A Snowy Victory

12/31/13

First things first: I bought some new furniture today!

Squee!!!

Squee!!!

Seriously, this is a huge deal for me. I never have the saving powers to put together the money for one of these bad boys.

Anyway, after rearranging my apartment, I headed off into the world for a surprisingly fun and fulfilling day. In the morning, I met Kayley in the park to watch the flurries falling…

“I thought there’d be more snow!”

“I thought there’d be more snow!”

…and also got yet another feature from Teagan.

“That outfit is just too cute to let it pass me by!”

“That outfit is just too cute to let it pass me by!”

So, with those words of encouragement still ringing in my ears, I headed to the boutique…where I proceeded to sell outfit after outfit after outfit. Business was booming! But I did manage to slip away for a sec—just long enough to bump into a friendly customer doing some browsing downtown.

"You know what I could really go for right about now…?”

“You know what I could really go for right about now…?”

“Blueberries! And how about smothered in chocolate! Drool…”

“Blueberries! And how about smothered in chocolate! Drool…”

Then it was time to close up for a minute and make my way over to the contest hall. I threw something together for the bold theme, totally not expecting to win…but then I did! And what better way to spend Christmas Eve than watching fireworks from the hotel’s ultra-posh after-party?
