Model, Me?!

11/16/16
Callie was the one who got me started on this path, by tipping me off to something new…

“Hey, Susan. Stop by the Photo Studio when you get a chance, why don’t ya?”

“Hey, Susan. Stop by the Photo Studio when you get a chance, why don’t ya?”

Not knowing what to expect, I walked in to find Sasha and Zoey, the two girls who run the studio, in a state of confusion.

You can imagine my surprise at their request!

My first outfit was, I’ll admit it, a little rushed—I threw together a “Lively” ensemble for a photoshoot on-site at BunBun Funland, a new amusement park that’s since opened for business.

My poster was a huge success, of course!

Yup, there I am!

Since then, we’ve advertised for an autumn sports-fest, a local bookstore, a princess-themed gathering, and more.

Not to mention, we might be expanding our scope anytime now…

It can be a little funny seeing my face all over town...but I'm getting used to it.

Sorry for the delay in putting this up! Instead of my usual monthly summary of the outfits I wore (though don’t worry, that’s in here too—scroll to the bottom!), I’m going to go over all the fun things that happened to me over the course of my holidays, but that never quite made it onto the blog!

1. Reed!
There was that time when he invited me out to the Photo Studio…

Actually, it happened twice!

Actually, it happened twice!

Hmm…trying to tell me something, Reed?

Well, at least we made some photos and fun memories!

Well, at least we made some photos and fun memories!

Gotta say, I’m grateful to that dude. He dragged me out of the store on a day when I seriously needed some fresh air!

2. Cake!
I met a couple of customers/friends at the cake shop a while back, and enjoyed a delicious snack break with them.

“Cake is one of my favorite things, y’know! But…”

“Cake is one of my favorite things, y’know! But…”

“Well, I’m a little annoyed! Susan, he won’t buy me the 10 fruitcakes I came for.”

“Well, I’m a little annoyed! Susan, he won’t buy me the 10 fruitcakes I came for.”

Sometimes girls just gotta have their cake, and boys just don’t understand that, am I right?

3. Makeovers!
I got to spend some quality girl time with the amazingly talented gals (and guys!)

"Now just sit back..."

“Now just sit back…”

"...relax..."

“…relax…”

"...there, didn’t I tell you you’d love it?"

“…there, didn’t I tell you you’d love it?”

4. Outfits!
My favorite thing to do is put together outfits, obviously—it’s why I’m in this business!—but what tops even that is putting together outfits for the people I really care about. I got to do that a couple of times this month, for both Michaela and Daphne, two lovely ladies I look up to a whole lot. The best part was, they both could not have loved my selections any more than they did!

“I can’t wait to wear this to work!”

“Actually, it’s too cute for work. Let’s get our picture taken instead!”

“Susan, would you believe it if I told you I have a…date…with this guy?!”

“Susan, would you believe it if I told you I have a…date, with…this guy?!”

"I knew you would!"

“I knew you’d say yes!”

“And wouldn’t you know it—your outfit made the evening!”

5. Monthly slideshow!
As promised, here are some shots of my favorite outfits from last month. Enjoy!

As always, thanks for reading. And get excited, because my move to Beaumonde city keeps getting closer and closer! Right now, it’s looking like I’ll get there sometime in May. That’s a lot of time, but also not a lot of time! And I promise to keep blogging about it right on through.

Count it Down!

1/1/2016

Happy New Year to you lovers of all things stylish! The last year has been good to me (I mean, I restarted the blog, and that’s been great!). I spent my New Years and New Year’s Day mostly helping out around the store. Even with my awesome assistants around to help run the place, the demands of the fashion world never cease!

It was fun, yes, but I was also just the tiniest bit disappointed when Michaela and Emmylou didn’t stop by to invite me out for fireworks, like they have in the past.

Remember? It was great, right?

However, I have been getting a whole lot of new customers, people who’ve never visited the boutique before in their lives, and that’s very exciting!

It means I get to spread my love of great fashion even farther and wider.

Oh, and Philip asked me to go to the Photo Studio with him, so that’s worth something, I’m sure!

I also met a couple of girls at the Station Plaza, so I guess that counts as getting out, too!

They couldn’t stop talking about this guy who sings in a tank top around that time of day…

And I wondered, could it be…this guy? Because, him? I sold him that tank top!!

I even splurged on some new furniture, and did some redecorating…

Looks like I wasn’t the only one with that idea!

And Daisy told me that, if my color of the day is purple…

Purple for wealth—my wallet is purple! And people love having you around.

So, all in all—a great start to 2016!

Time to Go Short

7/6/13

You know me—I find one hairstyle I like, I stick with it. I don’t know how long this one will stay around, but for the time being, I’m going short for the summer!

Hair

Aah, too cute!

After getting my hair done, I took a jog in the park, where I bumped into this gal Jerry Ann, who promised mint tea next time we meet.

Jerry Ann

Her garden’s full of the stuff!

Daisy’s booth was just a couple of steps away, so I chose green for my color of the day, and guess what herb she named? Mint!

Daisy

Green…mint…wisdom…your lucky item is soda pop!

After hearing all that, it was time to go home and settle in over a nice cup of mint tea.

Green!

After turning my décor all-green, of course! …Well, mostly green. It’s the thought that counts.

June in Photos

7/1/13

I don’t want to believe it’s July already, because July means it’s the middle of the summer, which means the summer is halfway over. That’s not cool, man! (No pun intended.) However, July also means the warmest days, the ripest cherries and blueberries and peaches and many other delicious fruits, and the best time to visit the lake. It even means my birthday, which is sort of sad—I’m getting older! Heck, at least I’ll get cake. I’ll live with it. So to usher in the month, let’s usher out the month of June with a bang-up slideshow of my outfits. Yeah, so there aren’t that many of them this time, but they’re all so cute!

May in Photos

6/3/13

Here, as always, is my monthly recap—a little bit delayed, a little shorter than usual due to all those cosplay outfits, but still very much here! And, after this, I’m going to take a much-deserved one-week break. In fact, it may end up being a little longer than that, as finals take place the week of the 10th. But in that time, I promise nothing interesting will happen. No going to the boutique. No checking in at the hair salon. No shopping at the Buyer’s Center, makeup studio, or interior design store. Just lots and lots of good old-fashioned homework. Trust me, you won’t be missing anything.

Although my presence around Lilac Breeze was spotty at best this month, and while I still have plenty of homework and more than enough projects, it wouldn’t do for me to miss my monthly recap, now, would it? As you can see, I’m really digging this little swept-back hairstyle I discovered…

Tegwyn Time

4/30/13

I had a new customer at Lilac Breeze today—pro photographer Tegwyn!

How exciting!

How exciting!

Of course, she’s been in before, but just to take photographs and never to buy anything. I found her some new shorts and then met her in the park later in the day.

She’s pretty photogenic herself, huh?

After that, I did a little shopping for myself—got some new makeup and hit the photo studio to return Tegwyn’s favor of visiting my boutique. And speaking of the boutique, I switched around my store interior and sold some mannequin outfits as a result.
