After the whole Adelaide situation got started, I wasn’t quite sure where to turn next. This girl was ready to shut down something that Ricky, Sophie, Callie, myself, and a lot of other people have poured their love and effort into—something that means so much to this city. I couldn’t just stand idly by and watch as she undid all our hard work, so I turned to the first person I could think of: my dear friend and fellow fashionista, Evie.

Of course she had the perfect idea right away!
I don’t know why I didn’t think of it before, but fashion is for everyone—including people like Adelaide, who might not yet be enlightened to that fact. In order to bring her around, Evie got in touch with some of her contacts, and yet another brand booth opened in the Exhibition Hall, catering to people with tastes just like Adelaide’s!

Boy, I can’t say how excited I am to do business with you!
Enid Chen offers the very best in high-class fashion…

…as my friends were quick to point out to me.

However, I appreciated their cautions against going all-out—the products are quite pricey!

But worth it, naturally.

I even liked Kez’s outfit for me so much that I wore it to my next photoshoot!
Of course, Adelaide wasn’t ready to be impressed immediately…
But even she had to admit that clothes aren’t just clothes after getting a major confidence boost thanks to her newest outfit.
So, with a little help from all of my friends, the fashion contests will start up again very soon.
First, thanks to another one of Sophie’s great ideas, I just have to dress up a bunch of extra models to show off my signature style…

…and I can’t wait to get started!

Callie was the one who got me started on this path, by tipping me off to something new…

“Hey, Susan. Stop by the Photo Studio when you get a chance, why don’t ya?”
Not knowing what to expect, I walked in to find Sasha and Zoey, the two girls who run the studio, in a state of confusion.

You can imagine my surprise at their request!
My first outfit was, I’ll admit it, a little rushed—I threw together a “Lively” ensemble for a photoshoot on-site at BunBun Funland, a new amusement park that’s since opened for business.

My poster was a huge success, of course!

Yup, there I am!

And I was pleased to keep the other pictures, too…

The two that didn’t quite make the cut.
Since then, we’ve advertised for an autumn sports-fest, a local bookstore, a princess-themed gathering, and more.

Not to mention, we might be expanding our scope anytime now!

It can be a little funny seeing my face all over town…but I’m getting used to it.

Well, our first two contests went off without a hitch, so naturally something had to go wrong by now. Shortly after selling out on tickets for our third show, Ricky invited Sophie, Callie, and I to a party celebrating our first two fabulous successes.

Once I learned it was going to be hosted at the poshest restaurant in town, of course there was no way I’d say no!

I mean, who doesn’t love a night out with her best girlfriends? 😉
However, we were all surprised and more than a little sad when Ricky’s older sister, Adelaide, decided to crash the show.

Needless to say, this was NOT the outcome we’d planned for…
Now, it seems, Adelaide will stop at nothing to see Ricky stop pursuing fashion, and that leaves the city with no place to host our shows. But not if I have anything to say about it…

I know there’s got to be a way to win this girl over, and I won’t stop trying until I do!

I’ve recently started doing some design work on the side, whenever the Brand Reps at the Exhibition Hall decide they need me.

Really, it’s so much fun…

And I get to keep the clothes, so, why not?

Oh, and of course I’ve been celebrating the holidays as they go by!

Wow, so much has happened here in Beaumonde City—in just the past few months, the place has gone from a cute little borough to a booming world of fashion, and I’ve been right there at the middle of it all. I’ve been so busy, I haven’t had the time to so much as think about writing until today. That’s because we’ve just wrapped up the second of Beaumonde’s fashion contests, and I couldn’t be more thrilled with the way they each turned out!
When Ricky, Sophie, and Callie first approached me about participating, I wasn’t sure what to make of it. Sophia and Callie were especially surprised when Rickey said we’d be the ones modeling!

But with a little convincing, we were all ready to give it a try.

The most fun, of course, is trying to sell tickets…
Our first contest’s theme was Girly, so I put together ensembles for Sophie, Callie, and of course myself.

Everyone was thrilled with the way things turned out, of course!
Then it was on me to keep counting ticket sales and working to fill that huge arena for a second time.

When I got the email, I ran straight over!

Words just can’t describe the thrill of walking through that door.
Our theme this time was just…cool.

Like, just be cool.

No big deal, right?

Once again, the contest was a huge success, and I’ve heard nothing but praise from fans and customers ever since.

What did I tell you? One day I knew I’d be on that bulletin board!

As I mentioned in my last post, there’s this girl Callie here in town, and she’s an idol to most budding fashionistas who live here. And as I discovered today, some fans will go to greater lengths than others…

“You know, I just don’t think the pose is quite right! Why can’t I seem to capture that pure essence of cool?!”
Such as this girl Xiaoling, a new acquaintance who quickly became a walking advertising campaign after she roped me in to helping her look like Callie!

“I like it, but something’s still missing…”
While she approved of the “bold” outfit I put together for her, it still wasn’t enough to get her the look she’d been dreaming of. After a chat over coffee at the neighborhood café, Xiaoling and I came to the conclusion that there’s always more to an outfit than just the clothes…

Of course—the hair and makeup!!
The beautician’s and hair salon here in town are fairly basic in their offerings, so when Xiaoling burst in demanding makeup that matched a photo, Arabella, the store owner, didn’t know what to do.

“Susan, I—I’m so sorry, but—could you handle this?!”

Turns out I’m not too bad at doing makeup…

Or styling hair, for that matter!
After Xiaoling’s transformation, everyone wanted to try my new services. Arabella and Noor–the owner of the hair salon–were more than happy to have me come by to take on clients.

And I have to say, there’s something about wielding a comb and scissors…

…that just makes me feel alive! (New hair, anyone?!?)

A LOT, it actually turns out! Over the course of my first day in Beaumonde City, I encountered so many wonderful new friends and amazing new experiences, not least of which was the process of entering Beaumonde itself. I’ve been writing and dreaming about it all these months like it was a place I could really up and move to, but instead, it turns out to be a sort of dolls’ world, hidden in the back of a dollhouse that belonged to my grandmother. That’s right—she left me the magical key, and a couple of days ago, I decided to open the door.

Just go with it—after all, I didn’t see any reason not to, and look where it got me!
What I found was a beautiful, perfect little fashion-forward world full of girls just like me—the kind of young women who want to leave their mark on the world around them by expressing themselves through their own unique sense of style. Not least of these is the lovely Sophie…

She’s the one who stepped out of the door onto my side, and offered her hand to help me through.

I had to create a “doll” version of myself first, of course—I’d never have fit otherwise!
It seems my grandmother was at least partly responsible for creating this place—she and Sophie’s grandmother used to be close friends, and, in their time, the head fashionistas of this city. The fashion craze seems to have fallen a bit by the wayside now, but that didn’t stop me from stepping right up to the plate when Sophie asked me to become the new manager of her boutique!

I mean, how could I say no to working in a place like THIS?!?
The door home—to my boutique and my quiet life in Styleville—is always there for me in the back room, in case I want to step out for a minute; I’ve still got the key, of course. But for the time being, I think it’s safe to say I’ll be staying here.

With so much to explore, I’m not sure where to begin…

I just know that I can’t WAIT to go along for the ride.

And to one day become as well-renowned and gorgeous as Callie, current reigning model in this city…SIGH.

But for the time being, it’s my home-away-from-home…

And I love it here!

You know how sometimes you put together lots of cute outfits, then forget to take the pictures out of your album long enough to upload them? Yeah, that’s kind of what happened to me this past January. Before we go on with the new fun in Beaumonde, here are just a few older fashion adventures for your viewing pleasure! Enjoy. ❤

You know how, all those months ago, I kept talking about moving on, making it big, finally getting somewhere in the fashion world?
Well, it’s finally time for me to take that step.
Today, Styleville expands into a new horizon of beautiful (and not to mention chic) new opportunities. It’s never too late to start a new adventure and really pursue your calling, and for me that’s always meant more than just running a boutique. I want to help my customers with everything they could ever need, from shoes to hair and makeup, and of course, outfits I design myself.
Sound a little out-there? Well, I’d think so, too, if I hadn’t just bought my ticket to Beaumonde City!!! Today—and tomorrow, and the next, and, yes, the one after that—I’ll be exploring this new place and finding ways to make it my home, and to really leave my mark on the fashion world. I may not get around to posting about my new adventures for a little while, but I promise that those stories are coming, and soon. Wish me luck, and do stick around for the ride! It promises to be nothing short of (fashionably) fabulous.

As you may have read here or here, I’m getting ready to move out of Styleville to somewhere a little bit bigger, brighter, and more full of fashion. The trouble is that that same fashion economy could be happening right here in the Styleville, but just hasn’t made the leap overseas.
So before I sell all my worldly possession (just kidding, though I might need a very big boat to bring them all with me) and move to the southern coasts of England, I thought I’d put an appeal up here for all of you. If you’re interested in seeing new content on the blog, give this petition for bringing some style stateside a read.
As always, thanks so much for reading! Right now my travel plans are fairly set for early May, so the content I’m putting up will change a little then.
Also, a quick apology for the brief hiatus. School is in session once again, and you know how that always goes…

I end up so frazzled that all I can do is drink some tea and calm my nerves!
